The city of San Diego, on the southern coast of California, is a great tourist spot. San Diego is now the 8th largest city in the United States and the second largest in the state so there are plenty of things there for you to see and do.

I’ve mentioned before that I’m a history buff and San Diego has a ton of attractions for anyone who is like-minded. The city also has several professional sports teams to go see no matter what time of the year you visit.

If you’re thinking about visiting San Diego but aren’t interested in typical hotel accommodations then consider a vacation rental instead. The vacation rentals in San Diego are quite affordable. If you’re looking for a condo, there are many quality San Diego vacation condo rentals available. For business clients or company events make sure to look into San Diego corporate vacation rentals as well.

If what San Diego has to offer isn’t enough for you the city shares a border with Tijuana, Mexico and is just south of Orange County. This prime location gives you access to a ton of more vacation destinations if you aren’t afraid of a little extra driving or dealing with crossing the border.

Here are a few quick tips for traveling on a budget. I hope they help you when you’re planning your next vacation.

How can you save some money on meals when you are traveling? Seek out local cafés for your breakfast and lunch. Also be sure to take advantage of breakfast if the hotel that you are staying at offers it. By saving money here you can splurge a little on a fancy dinner if you like.

Try to keep your vacation on the short side. If you only stay three or four days you will end up spending a lot less money then if you were to stay for a week or two.

When you are planning your trip do not forget to check the Internet for coupons. With a little research you could end up finding great coupons for airfare, hotels and for regional attractions.

If you know how to travel well on a budget you will be able to save some money and still end up having a spectacular vacation at one of the world’s most amazing destinations.

Yesterday I wrote about traveling on a small budget and promised more today. Here’s the second part of that post.

If you are sure of the destination for your family vacation you should begin planning as soon as possible. This way you will be able to find the very best deals. If you look into going on vacation during an off peak time of year you can likely finding lodging and plenty of fun activities to take part in at a great price.

If you and your family are pretty flexible as to where you would like to go on you can check out last minute travel deals online. There are many travel websites that will very often offer travel deals at greatly reduced rates.
If you have children be on the lookout for deals. Look for places to eat where your kids can eat for free or for a reduced price. There are many airline that will offer deals for children to be able to fly at a discount.

Start planning your vacation right as soon as you have decided on your destination. This way you will be able to be completely ready for your trip.

As the weather is getting warmer and summer is fast approaching thoughts are now turning to the annual family vacation. However with the rising cost of filling your gas tank along with food and lodging a vacation could very well be out of reach for many families this year. While this an be an awful thought not being able to take your family for the vacation that they have no doubt been looking forward to it does not have to be that way. The following are some helpful hints to be able to take a wonderful vacation without having to completely empty your wallet.

You could look into renting a home or cabin while you are on vacation instead of staying in a hotel. This will provide you with a kitchen and dining room so you can purchase your own food to prepare while you are on vacation. Not eating out for every meal while you are enjoying your vacation will really save you a lot of money.

When you are looking in booking flights and car rentals and hotels you need to do a lot of comparison shopping so that you are getting the very best and most affordable deal for you vacation. Looking online is a great way to check out rates. You will benefit greatly by doing this as prices will vary from each website that you look at. You should look into prices for these services separately and as a package deal. A package deal may be a better choice or it may not so you need to do your homework.

That’s all for today. Tomorrow I’ll post more tips on traveling on a small budget.
